The 4th International ICST Conference on Pervasive Computing Technologies for Healthcare 2010 has been hostedbythe Technical University of Munich. In each and every year the Pervasive Healthcare conference aims to gather together technology experts, practitioners, industry and national authorities contributing towards the development and application of human-centered pervasive and ubiquitous computing technology for healthcare and wellness. Just like this year.

The conference consisted of Full paper presentations, Poster papers and workshop sessions. This year we decided to have additionally a demo session, showcasing the latest research prototypes in healthcare. The overall attendance was circa 200, a testament to the quality of the conference. The attendees represented three major regions of the world, USA, Europe and Asia.

Technical quality of this year’s conference was one of the strongest points. Two high-quality keynotes presented research work from the two main themes of the conference – the first keynote speaker presented work from the technological viewpoint, while the second keynote presented work from the medical research side.

Furthermore, there were interesting and engaging presentations, situated at the cutting edge of research.  Additionally posters provided insights into ongoing research work and preliminary results, while demos showcased the cycle from a research idea to a prototype.

The social program was also very well organized, in a typical Bavarian restaurant, with a great food and drinks selection. Also the best paper award was given during the event.

Next edition of the conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland. Pervasive Health 2011 will continue building upon and further increasing the quality of the conference.
